Isobutyl alcohol (Isobutanol, 2-methyl-1-propanol) is a monohydric, simple alcohol used primarily as a solvent. It is easily mixed with most organic solvents, highly soluble in water.
Isobutyl alcohol is mainly used as a solvent in the production of varnishes and paints, for the preparation of plasticizers, and is included in the composition of numbering solvents.
Isobutanol is also present in additives to oils and fuels; it acts as an additive in the production of rubber, printing inks, and nitrocellulose.
In the pharmacological industry, isobutyl alcohol can be used as part of the essences.
Isobutyl alcohol is a colorless, flammable liquid with a characteristic odor.
Isobutyl alcohol technical, according to GOST 9536-2013, has the following characteristics:

Isobutyl alcohol is stored in specially equipped metal tanks or barrels in covered warehouses, under a shed or on a storage platform in compliance with the rules for the storage of flammable substances.
When working with isobutyl alcohol use personal protective equipment; the room where work is carried out with isobutanol should be equipped with ventilation ensuring the content of harmful substances in a concentration not exceeding the maximum allowable.
